Drama Banana

Thanks to Liam's creativity, Onetastic One has named our integration topic this term, Drama Banana.  We had several fantastic suggestions which we put up on the board.  Then, after morning tea, the class was allowed to come into class and vote by placing a tally mark next to the one name that they liked the most.  By a landslide, Drama Banana won!  Last week we looked a several plays and were able to perform them in front of the class.  There was a lot of learning that took place as we were able to watch other groups and assess what made each performance good and what could be improved.  It was a great starting point and we found some budding young actors in our midst!  We can't wait for the real experience at the Regent.

Making Ooblick

Onetastic One made some Ooblick so that we could have some fun with science and use our imaginations to describe a planet made out of ooblick.  It was a lot of fun and very cool science.  Afterwards, the descriptive writing that was produced was fantastic!  We will post some of these soon!

Sports Rotations

On Wednesday, Onetastic One were lucky enough to have professionals come in and teach us some of the FUNdamentals of golf and badminton.  We already have some budding future athletes!  Look at their form!
 
 

The Learning Pit!

We did the Tower Challenge!  It was so hard that we all fell into the Learning Pit.  We used string, sello tape, pasta and marshmallows to try and make a free standing tower in 18 minutes, but they all fall down.
We learned that we need to work together as a team and, when things get hard, sometimes we want to give up.   We have to keep on trying until we get out of the learning pit.    

What a great start to Term 2!  It has been really exciting and very busy.  To start of our blog this term, here are some pictures from our hike last term.  I was so proud of all the kids for their great attitudes.  Way to be Onetastic One!  Remember to look up at the slip the next time that you drive through The Gorge.
